Vinh Long Safe Aquaculture Chain Linkage Cooperative (Binh Luong Hamlet, An Binh Commune, Long Ho District) is one of 63 cooperatives nationwide selected and honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as a typical national cooperative in 2024.
The entire cooperative has 85 cages for raising red tilapia, tilapia, carp, crispy carp, grass carp, catfish, snakehead fish, basa... with a total water surface area of 6,120m2. With a charter capital of 2 billion VND, the main production and business activity of the cooperative is raising raw aquatic products. In addition, the cooperative also processes and preserves aquatic products and aquatic products; trades aquatic products, food (dried aquatic fish) and aquatic feed...
The cooperative applies the farming process according to VietGAP standards, is granted a certificate of qualified food safety facilities, and is eligible to participate in the "safe food chain". In 2023, the cooperative supplied 680 tons of products to the market, with a profit of nearly 9.2 billion VND divided equally among 10 members. It is estimated that in 2024, the cooperative will supply 700 tons of products to the market, with a profit of nearly 10.2 billion VND.
In recent years, the Cooperative has linked with companies and cooperatives to consume raw fish with an output of more than 300 tons of raw fish per year. Locally, the Cooperative actively participates in supporting national target programs and community service activities.
2024 is the second consecutive year that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has organized the selection and commendation of outstanding cooperatives nationwide. Through this, it aims to promptly discover and commend cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector that have been promoted, mobilized, guided and supported by the Farmers' Union with good quality and high efficiency. At the same time, it creates a spread to attract more and more farmer members to participate in the development of collective economy and cooperatives in agriculture, contributing to bringing the Party's resolutions and policies and the State's laws on the development of collective economy in agriculture into life.
