Hue merges two press and radio agencies into a Media Center

(PLVN) - This morning (June 5), the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision to merge Hue Today Newspaper and Hue City Radio & Television Station.

Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee member, City Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council Le Truong Luu; Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh (Member of the Party Central Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee); Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung (Member of the Party Central Committee Standing Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department).

At the ceremony, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the City Party Committee Phan Xuan Toan announced the following decisions: Merging Hue Today Newspaper and the City Radio & Television Station into the Hue City Media Center;

Appoint Mr. Hoang Dang Khoa (TUV member, Editor-in-Chief of Hue Today Newspaper) to hold the position of Director of Hue City Media Center. Three Deputy Directors include Mr. Truong Dien Thong (Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hue Today Newspaper); Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam (Director of Hue City Radio & Television Station) and Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Hue (Deputy Director of Hue City Radio & Television Station). The decisions take effect from July 1, 2025.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Truong Luu emphasized that, with a city directly under the Central Government, the role of local press agencies is required to be higher. Therefore, the city leaders highly expect this merger to raise the level, the center will increasingly develop to be worthy of the position of a press agency in a city directly under the Central Government.

Mr. Le Truong Luu said: "Mr. Hoang Dang Khoa has held many positions; no matter what position he holds, he has achieved many excellent results."

“Immediately after this announcement ceremony, the Center’s leaders need to get to work immediately, quickly perfecting the apparatus so that when the decision comes into effect, it can operate smoothly. Develop operating regulations, assign tasks and responsibilities to ensure strictness and compliance with regulations. At the same time, continue to arrange and streamline the apparatus after the merger. Proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to rebuild the financial mechanism and develop an autonomy plan for the Center,” said Secretary Le Truong Luu.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Hoang Dang Khoa pledged to work with the leadership, staff and civil servants of the Center to make every effort to build good internal solidarity; ensure objectivity and democracy in work management. Continue to improve and enhance quality to perform well the role of leading and determining public opinion; aim to be the center connecting press agencies in the city.

The new Director of Hue City Media Center, Hoang Dang Khoa, promised to promote a sense of responsibility and strive to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Before working at Hue Today Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Dang Khoa was a Literature teacher at Nguyen Chi Thanh High School (Quang Dien District). After that, he moved to various positions at the People's Council and People's Committee of Quang Dien District, serving as Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee and then Secretary of the Quang Dien District Party Committee.

From April 2020 to March 2022, Mr. Khoa held the position of Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thua Thien Hue province. From April 2022 to present, he held the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief and then Editor-in-Chief of Hue Today newspaper.
