On November 7, according to Nguyen Vu Linh, Director of Bach Ma National Park, Hue City, the Park has now put up warning ropes at landslide sites caused by recent heavy rains and floods; and has also announced a stop to welcoming tourists. To ensure safety and uninterrupted forest protection, the Park has arranged a working place for the Bach Ma Forest Ranger Station at the foot of Bach Ma Mountain.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh added that the Garden is surveying to open a 1km long, 1.5m wide walking route to temporarily connect traffic in the area; contacting the design consultant to develop temporary and long-term solutions. The Garden has reported to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to request emergency funding or surplus funds in 2025 to remedy the situation or propose to include it in public investment sources for the period 2026-2030.

The recent extreme heavy rains have caused serious damage to many structures, infrastructure and forest protection management activities in Bach Ma National Park. In particular, many points on the National Highway 1A patrol route - Bach Ma peak suffered serious landslides.

Specifically, at km 9+500, the negative slope collapsed about 25m long, eroding the road surface by 0.5-1m. More seriously, at km 12+00, the entire positive slope, negative slope stone embankment and road surface collapsed over a length of about 100m, 30-50m deep, completely cutting off the route and breaking the medium voltage underground cable supplying electricity to the Bach Ma peak area.

The patrol route along the La Son – Tuy Loan highway through the park was also eroded at many locations, especially more than 10 stream crossing points were damaged, cutting off the rangers at Huong Loc and Mo Rang stations. Currently, the rangers have to temporarily move by the highway to maintain forest protection work.

In addition, many office buildings and ranger stations have deteriorated and are leaking. Some ranger stations located next to mountain slopes such as Thuong Lo Ranger Station and Bach Ma Peak Ranger Station are at high risk of landslides due to the soil being softened by heavy rain.

Faced with unusual weather conditions, the Board of Directors of Bach Ma National Park has proactively directed the withdrawal of all patrol forces from the forest, ensuring the safety of staff and property. Forest ranger stations are required to proactively deploy measures to ensure the safety of staff and property; organize inspections, clear sewers, ensure drainage on roads, especially the patrol and forest protection route of National Highway 1A - Bach Ma peak.
