Hung Yen is about to build Ring Road 3.5 with an investment capital of nearly 1,500 billion VND.

The project was approved for investment by the People's Council of Hung Yen province on October 28, 2024.

Accordingly, from January to March this year, the project will survey, establish, appraise and approve the construction drawing design and construction estimate, and continue to carry out site clearance work.

From April, a plan will be made to select a contractor and organize a construction bidding. From May, construction and acceptance will begin. By December 2028, the project will be handed over and put into use.

Belt Road 3.5 (section from DT378 to Highway 5) is located in the administrative area of Van Lam and Van Giang districts, with a total length of more than 8km. The starting point of the route intersects with DT378, the end point connects with the central axis of the urban area south of Highway 5.

Regarding the route, from DT378, the route will pass through the rice fields of Van Giang town and Long Hung commune, Van Giang district. Then the route will go along Nguu Giang river, through Long Hung residential area and coincide with the current district road 17 (except for the section through Long Hung residential area, which is newly built).

After reaching DT382B, the route will overlap with 2.8km of beltway 3.5 being invested by Vingroup (Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 area). Continuing, the route passes through the rice fields and a part of the residential area of Nghia Tru commune, Van Giang district and Trung Trac commune, Van Lam district, following the existing concrete road.

Within the scope, the route will pass through works including the Kenh Tay River, Kenh Dong River and the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway overpass.

The land acquisition area of this project is 57 hectares. To implement it, it will be necessary to arrange resettlement for people and return the production land of the enterprise, renovate and expand the cemetery. The estimated cost of compensation, support for site clearance and resettlement is 653 billion VND.

In terms of scale, beltway 3.5 includes 2 side roads; the cross-section of one side is 8m, of which the vehicle lane is 7.5m. Because it mainly passes through rice fields, there are no residents living on both sides of the route, so at the current stage, it is proposed to invest in only 3m wide outer sidewalks.
