Towards safe and quality exams

The 2025 high school graduation exam takes place in the context of administrative unit arrangement and implementation of 2-level local government. With early guidance from the Ministry, close direction from the Provincial People's Committee, and close coordination between departments, branches and local People's Committees, the preparation work has been carried out synchronously and on schedule. Up to now, the preparation work has been basically completed, with the goal of organizing the exam safely, seriously and effectively.

Active, proactive

Since the end of 2024, the Provincial People's Committee has demonstrated high political determination and the participation of the entire political system through the issuance of Directive 08/CT-UBND to comprehensively direct the organization of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. In order to promptly implement key tasks, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Exam was established on April 1, 2025; fully implementing regulations and rules on exam organization and promoting propaganda about the exam... In its role as the standing body of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Exam, the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) has advised on the issuance of plans, proactively coordinating closely with member departments, branches and localities to fully prepare necessary conditions to meet the requirements for good service for the exam. Accordingly, departments, branches and localities have issued documents and implementation plans.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Quoc Khanh (Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee) said that the exam will take place on June 26-27. An Giang will organize the exam at 48 official exam sites and 1 backup exam site (an increase of 2 sites compared to 2024), with 938 exam rooms, 50 backup exam rooms and 17 waiting rooms for independent candidates who have graduated from high school. There are 21,233 candidates registered to take the exam, including exams according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program and the 2006 program...

Accordingly, training for exam organization; transportation and handover of exam papers/tests are planned to ensure safe, secure and proper implementation; coordination plans for logistics, security, and medical care at exam locations... are implemented promptly. For candidates in difficult circumstances, the Department of Education and Training requires units to proactively review and coordinate with organizations, unions and parent representatives to have timely support measures. Regarding teaching and learning, it is implemented flexibly, promoting the combination of direct and online teaching, enhancing guided self-study, and being closely monitored by teachers, schools and parents. Review and guidance for candidates are implemented seriously and systematically, with specific review plans developed. The Department of Education and Training requires high schools and continuing education institutions to develop review plans closely following the Ministry of Education and Training's sample questions. At the same time, a mock exam will be held across the province on May 23-24 to help students get familiar with the actual exam process and assess their abilities according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Schools arrange 24 students in each room and follow the process of arranging registration numbers and rooms as in the official graduation exam. The Department of Education and Training issues exam questions with a structure, format, and content that closely follows Decision 764/QD-BGDDT and the "reference" questions of the Ministry of Education and Training on the 2025 High School Graduation Exam. In particular, the Literature subject is tested in essay form. The subjects: Math, English, History, Geography, Economic Education - Law, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Technology (Industry and Agriculture) are tested in multiple-choice form. Candidates taking the multiple-choice test do the test on the answer sheet according to the Ministry of Education and Training's model, helping students get used to filling in the answer sheet in the official graduation exam.

At the Long Xuyen High School examination site, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Global Technology - Telecommunications Corporation (GTEL) to pilot model 21 (under Project 06/CP of the Government) on authenticating candidates taking the exam via chip-embedded citizen identification cards at Long Xuyen High School. This activity aims to enhance digital transformation in the education sector, contributing to the implementation of the province's digital transformation task... All 553 candidates in 24 examination rooms at the examination site were authenticated through chip-embedded citizen identification cards before entering the examination room...

Focus on safe and quality exams

Inspection Team No. 2 led by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung has just inspected the preparations for the organization of the High School Graduation Exam in An Giang; the area where the exam papers are printed, the planned exam marking area and some exam locations... The Deputy Minister of Education and Training acknowledged the careful and strict preparation of the province. The Deputy Minister requested the province to continue to identify the important role of the provincial exam steering committee, clearly assigning tasks to each member in conjunction with responsibilities during the exam organization process. The steering committee members increased their responsibilities, coordinated well in preparing the conditions for organizing the exam, carefully inspected the facilities and equipment to ensure service for the exam locations, and the printing and transportation of exam papers in accordance with regulations. In addition, the Steering Committee needs to pay attention to the work of monitoring and checking food safety, security and order issues in examination rooms, proactively developing scenarios and contingency plans for unusual situations to ensure the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations... Organize mock exams for candidates

Accordingly, sectors and localities focus on the exam, including: Police support late candidates, handle exam security incidents. Health sector guides how to handle candidates who suddenly fall ill during exam hours. Traffic supports vehicles, ferries for candidates and handles unexpected situations in transporting exam papers/tests. People's Committees at all levels prepare backup vehicles when necessary during the process of transporting exam papers/tests. Electricity ensures stable power supply, especially in the exam printing area, with backup generators in case of power outages...

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung emphasized that this year is the first exam of the 2018 General Education Program (along with candidates taking the 2006 program) and in the context of restructuring the apparatus, it is necessary to strengthen coordination to ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously. An Giang is a locality with a lot of experience in organizing good exams over the past years and is a province with good exam results in the country. Highly appreciating the preparation work and proactive coordination between sectors and localities, along with the review plan, organizing mock exams for students... shows that the province is very proactive.

The Deputy Minister requested the Department of Education and Training to continue to direct schools to strengthen review so that students can grasp knowledge and have the best mindset to do the test. This year's exam has many new points, An Giang needs to review all stages; have plans to prevent and control epidemics, respond to weather, ensure traffic safety, support candidates from far away and prepare for situations that may occur... so that the exam takes place safely, seriously, with quality, and in accordance with regulations.
