Responding to International Cooperative Day, SAIGON CO.OP affirms its role as a model cooperative

In response to the International Day of Cooperatives (the first Saturday of July) – this year on July 5, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) – the largest trading cooperative in Vietnam – launched a series of practical activities to honor the collective economic model, while affirming its pioneering role in sustainable development.

Welcoming the International Day of Cooperatives, Saigon Co.op has just established and honored to receive the National Record with the community project "Online map of Vietnam made from 50,000 photos of happy smiles taken with the National Flag" in the Happy Journey campaign. The campaign is not only an activity to connect customers with a purely Vietnamese retail brand but also an opportunity to celebrate major holidays of the year with the whole country. At each stop, in addition to taking photos, Saigon Co.op also cooperates with the locality to organize special cultural programs such as historical reenactment in Quang Tri, Central Highlands gong performances, amateur music in Ben Tre ... Thereby contributing to promoting the image of people, regions and OCOP products typical of each locality. Co.opmart discounts OCOP products to celebrate International Cooperative Day

In addition to community activities, Saigon Co.op has always been a pioneer in building a "green standard" cooperative and with continuous efforts in environmental protection, promoting sustainable consumption and spreading green lifestyle in the community, the Co.opmart and Co.op Food supermarket systems - under Saigon Co.op - were honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Award from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly the Department of Natural Resources and Environment) in June 2025.
