(kontumtv.vn) – The bloody struggle on December 12, 1931 at Kon Tum Prison caused a great resonance in world public opinion about freedom, justice and human dignity, forcing the colonial rulers in Indochina to change the treatment of political prisoners in Kon Tum and the whole of Indochina . With that meaning, educating the younger generation about historical lessons and the indomitable fighting spirit of communist soldiers has always been a focus of Kon Tum province .

At Muong Hoong Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Dak Glei District, revolutionary historyeducation is carried out regularly and continuously. In December, the Bloody Struggle at Kon Tum Prison was the main propaganda content. Accordingly, teachers collected documents, images, and films about the Bloody Struggle to convey through history lessons, local education programs, and extracurricular activities. Through this, awareness of continuing the revolutionary tradition and respecting the value of independence and freedom among students was raised. Teacher Lang Xuan Quynh, Head of the Youth Union of Muong Hoong Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: “ Through the propaganda about the Bloody Struggle in Kon Tum Prison, the main goal is to help students understand the patriotism and indomitable spirit of the previous generation. The revolutionary soldiers in Kon Tum Prison fought relentlessly against the colonial regime, not only with physical strength but also with indomitable will and spirit. This is a lesson about patriotism and sacrifice for the ideal of national independence.”

Y Bach Tuyet, an 8th grade student at Muong Hoong Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: “ Through the bloody struggle of former political prisoners, I am very impressed by the brave, resilient, and indomitable spirit of former prisoners. I feel that my commune, Muong Hoong, is facing many difficulties. I will try to study hard, practice, and study well to develop my hometown.”

Towards the 93rd anniversary of the Bloody Struggle, many schools, unions and associations organized activities to return to the source at Kon Tum Prison. The birth of the Infantry Branch right in the prison was the torch that lit the way for the Bloody Struggle to take place on December 12, 1931. The struggle was led by comrades Dang Thai Thuyen, Truong Quang Trong, Nguyen Huy Lung and Ho Do. During the struggle, 8 communist soldiers were sacrificed and 8 soldiers were injured. The brutal repression of the French colonialists further increased the fighting spirit of the political prisoners, leading to the Hunger Strike on December 16, 1931. As the school organizes a source-returning activity at Kon Tum Prison this December, teacher Dang Trung Hieu, Head of the Youth Union of Dak Cam Commune Primary and Secondary School, Kon Tum City said: “ In addition to the purpose of letting students visit the Red Address to visit and learn about historical milestones of the struggles. Based on the spirit of the school's educational program and the general educational program of the whole country, we educate students about the historical significance of major holidays of the year.”

93 years have passed but the lessons written by the blood and bones of communist soldiers in the Bloody Struggle remain intact and continue to guide and light the way for cadres and people of all ethnic groups in Kon Tum province on the path of building and developing their homeland. Veteran Tran Thanh Binh in Residential Group 1, Quyet Thang Ward, Kon Tum City said: " My family is also a family with revolutionary traditions, so I also educate my children and grandchildren to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, always study history to remember and know the merits of the heroic martyrs in the past, how they worked and sacrificed so that I can contribute a small part to building the Fatherland in the future."

The images of political prisoners who fell for the independence and freedom of the country, for the noble ideals of the Communist Party of Vietnam will live forever in the hearts of today's and future generations./.
