After 4 days of treatment at the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital, on July 22, the male patient was out of danger but still in a coma, had to be put on a ventilator, and suffered severe brain damage.
Previously, the patient was transferred to the Center in a state of cyanosis, convulsions, delirium, insomnia, hallucinations, multiple organ damage, and risk of cardiac arrest. The patient's family said that this male patient recently bought and used electronic cigarettes for more than 600,000 VND, smoking 3-4 tubes a day.

In the past 10 days, the young man suffered from insomnia, paranoia, and even threatened to kill his father and younger brother. His family took him to the hospital for emergency treatment. Test results at the hospital found that the patient's cigarette sample contained 4 drugs, including MDMB-4 en-Pinaca, MDMB-Chminaca, ADB-4 en-Pinaca, and ADB-Binaca.
According to Dr. Nguyen Trung Nguyen, Director of the Poison Control Center, this is the first time the center has received a patient's e-cigarette product sample containing up to 4 narcotics, while just one substance is enough to endanger life and cause brain damage. In addition, the center is also treating a 19-year-old female patient in Hanoi who was poisoned by smoking an e-cigarette containing many narcotics, including 2 new substances that have been recorded for the first time.
Doctor Nguyen said that the common point of new generation drug poisoning cases is that they are very severe with symptoms such as convulsions, agitation, restlessness, hallucinations, uncontrolled behavior, damage to the brain and many other organs.
According to doctors, the most dangerous thing is that the test samples show that e-cigarettes are mixed with 3-4 types of drugs, while previously there was only one. The liquid inhaled from e-cigarettes contains nicotine and many substances that are harmful to the body. Therefore, when mixing in foreign substances, stimulants, and drugs, the consequences cannot be predicted, especially for young people and students...
