On May 20, at Hai Ba Trung Secondary School (Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City), students from 8 secondary schools in the district participated in the "Smart City" contest organized by the Department of Education and Training of Nha Be District in coordination with KDI Education.
Previously, on May 19, the competing teams from secondary schools became familiar with programming languages and programming skills to control automatic devices such as Arduino circuits, light sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, motors, LED displays, etc.

On that basis, students are formed a foundation and develop ideas to build a smart city model for the team. After a day of studying and completing the model, they enter the official competition including a presentation and answering questions from the judges.
Each member of the jury gave their own comments, evaluations and scores according to a set of unified criteria. The competition results of the teams were the total scores of all the members of the jury.

MSc. Dinh Vu Nguyen Chuong, a member of the jury, said that through the competition, students demonstrated their outstanding creativity. Accordingly, with just some basic training content, they were able to create city models with interesting and unique solutions.
At the end of the competition, the first prize was awarded to Le Van Huu Secondary School with the project "Flood-free city".

Second prize went to Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School and Third prize was awarded to Hai Ba Trung Secondary School.
A representative of the Department of Education and Training of Nha Be district said that the contest is the first step in getting acquainted with and developing students' passion for science and technology subjects.
