Credit officers of the Social Policy Bank of Tan Lac district and the Savings and Loan Group of Thanh Dinh hamlet, Man Duc town inspected the use of loans by households.
Before accessing the TDCS capital, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngung, Thanh Dinh hamlet, Man Duc town was the most disadvantaged household in the hamlet. Although she had a large area of cultivated land, due to lack of capital, she only grew corn and cassava, with unstable income. Since receiving a loan of 50 million VND from the Tan Lac District Social Policy Bank, her family has invested in growing grapefruit and raising cows for breeding, and the economy has become increasingly stable. Ms. Ngung shared: "For disadvantaged households like my family, loans from the Social Policy Bank are very important because of the appropriate interest rates and simple loan procedures. Once the family has received the loan, they must try to use the capital for the right purpose and effectively to have money to pay interest and repay the bank, thereby moving towards escaping poverty."
Not only Ms. Ngung's family, in Thanh Dinh hamlet, there are also many households using policy capital effectively to develop the economy. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Vien, head of the Savings and Loan Group (TK&VV) of Thanh Dinh hamlet, the hamlet used to be very difficult. Currently, the appearance of the hamlet has changed a lot, with clean village roads and alleys; temporary houses have been replaced by solid houses. That achievement has a strong mark of policy capital. In particular, the group managed by Ms. Vien always maintains good credit quality, with no overdue debt or outstanding interest.
Ms. Vien emphasized: "Over the years, policy capital has been guaranteed to reach the right beneficiaries. Borrowers use capital for the right purposes and effectively, so people pay interest and repay debts well." In addition, Ms. Vien also has a lot of experience in urging interest and debt collection. On the 5th of every month, she organizes group meetings to promote new policies and remind group members to pay interest. For loans due for payment, she notifies one month in advance so that households can have a financial plan. Thanks to that, group members are always proactive and do not let debts become overdue.
Not only Thanh Dinh hamlet, in other villages and hamlets in Tan Lac district, promoting the effectiveness of savings and credit groups is one of the important factors to consolidate and improve the quality of credit institutions. Up to now, the total outstanding credit institutions in the whole district has reached over 620 billion VND, with nearly 16,000 customers still in debt. From a unit with a high rate of overdue debt, in recent years, the Tan Lac District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has been a bright spot in implementing credit institutions. From 2020 to now, the unit has no overdue debt; 100% of savings and credit groups are classified as good or fair.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Director in charge of the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Tan Lac District, said: The unit always focuses on increasing outstanding loans along with improving credit quality, transaction quality at the commune level, lending entrustment work and operational efficiency of savings and credit groups. Every year, the assignment of staff is carried out flexibly, based on capacity and expertise; experienced staff are assigned to difficult areas to support new colleagues. Thanks to that, the staff is united and supports each other to complete their tasks well. In addition, the unit also effectively implements emulation movements launched by the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, contributing to improving overall quality.
