Huynh Nhu scored a double, Vietnam women's team beat Japan

TPO - On the afternoon of June 13, the Vietnamese women's team continued to have a positive performance during their training trip in Japan when they won 3-1 against the women's team of Tezukayama Gakuin University.

This is the second friendly match of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team during their training trip to Japan to prepare for the 2026 Asian women's qualifiers.

In this match, Coach Mai Duc Chung continued to experiment with the lineup with many young players given the opportunity to play from the start. Goalkeeper Khong Thi Hang started, in front of the defense were Diem My, Hoang Thi Loan, Kin Yen, Tran Thi Duyen and My Anh. Tuyet Dung, Nam Mi, Vu Thi Hoa and Ngoc Minh Chuyen played in the midfield, while Tuyet Ngan played highest in the attack.

Facing a university team with equal physique and technique, the Vietnamese players had many difficulties against the opponent's pressing style of play. In the 35th minute, the opposing team took advantage of the opportunity to open the score, leading 1-0.

In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung made 7 substitutions to increase the speed and improve the game. Huynh Nhu, Thu Thuong, Thai Thi Thao, Duong Thi Van, Nguyen Thi Van, Ngan Thi Van Su and Nguyen Thi Hoa were brought onto the field, bringing new life to the red team.

In the 53rd minute, Huynh Nhu scored to level the score at 1-1 after a beautiful combination. Just 12 minutes later, the captain of the Vietnamese women's team continued to shine with the second goal, helping the home team take a 2-1 lead.

From the 75th minute, coach Mai Duc Chung continued to rotate the squad by sending in Chuong Thi Kieu, Tran Thi Thu, Hai Yen and Thanh Thao. This reinforcement helped the team completely control the game. In the 80th minute, Nguyen Thi Hoa scored the winning goal 3-1 after a well-organized attack.

The second consecutive win in Japan is a positive result for the Vietnamese women's team in their preparation for the 2026 Asian women's qualifiers.

On June 15, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will have their final friendly match against Osaka University of Sports and Health Sciences, before concluding the important training session in Japan.
