After HYBE had a conflict with ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin - the person behind the success of NewJeans, this unit made surprising moves.
At the time NewJeans released their latest single “Bubblegum,” reports said that the parent company (i.e. HYBE) attempted to contact the members’ parents but no further updates were given.
According to Korean media sources, HYBE wants to contact the group's parents to resolve the issue and hopes they will stand on their side after the conflicts with Director Min Hee Jin.
In a call with media outlet YTN, Min Hee Jin expressed in an angry tone that she knew the parents of the NewJeans member did not answer HYBE's phone calls.
In related news, HYBE responded with an official statement detailing Min Hee Jin's press conference and revealing HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk's message to the CEO.
The conflict occurred when news that HYBE began auditing ADOR caused a stir in the Korean entertainment industry. The reason HYBE decided to do this was because ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin was accused of trying to take control of the company.
To refute HYBE's accusations, Min Hee Jin said that the conflict started when Belift Lab (a subsidiary under HYBE) intentionally "copied" NewJeans' concept by launching a new girl group ILLIT and felt that HYBE discriminated between its subsidiaries.
