On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the Caribbean television channel (Canal Caribe) broadcast a special report praising the historical significance of this event, while emphasizing the lesson of the strength of national unity.

The report opens with images of Ho Chi Minh City bustling with flags and flowers celebrating the anniversary.

Reporter Wilmer Rodríguez Fernández said: "The whole city named after the leader of Vietnam's national liberation is filled with joy at the historic moment - 50 years since the North and South reunited."

The 4-minute report reviews the historical context when Vietnam was divided after the Geneva Agreement in 1954, the resistance war against the US to save the country and the historic victory on April 30, 1975.

Canal Caribe quoted a Vietnamese citizen: "This day will always be a source of pride, when we have a peaceful and developed country like today."

In particular, Canal Caribe interviewed Ms. Hoang Thi Khan - a female revolutionary soldier who was once imprisoned in Con Dao prison.

She emotionally shared: “The April 30 victory brought freedom and a future to the entire nation. These days, people from all over the world are flocking to Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City to review the heroic history."

At the end of the report, Canal Caribe affirmed: "The event of April 30, 1975, after half a century, is still a strong proof that no empire cannot be defeated when the whole nation unites to fight for independence and freedom"./.
