Connecting product supply and demand between Nghe An and Lam Dong provinces

On the morning of June 4, in Vinh city, a conference was held to connect trade and expand product consumption markets between Nghe An province and Lam Dong province.

Attending the conference were comrades: Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade and Hoang Trong Hien - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province, along with the working delegation. Also attending were many businesses and distributors in Nghe An and Lam Dong provinces to study the market, strengthen cooperation and exchange.

In recent times, Nghe An province has effectively implemented trade promotion policies, supporting businesses to expand their consumption markets and strengthen supply-demand connections. Domestic trade promotion activities and export promotion activities have also been implemented such as: organizing business delegations to participate in fairs, connecting supply and demand in Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, etc.; Regularly organizing working conferences with trade counselors abroad: the United States, Korea, India, New Zealand, China, etc.

To date, Nghe An has 567 OCOP products, ranking second in the country in the number of OCOP products achieving recognized stars, including 529 products achieving 3 stars, 37 products achieving 4 stars and 1 product achieving 5 stars. In addition, there are 122 typical rural industrial products at the provincial level recognized. Many rural industrial products have been exported to many demanding markets such as: wooden handicrafts, fish sauce, various types of fish, bamboo and rattan weaving, brocade, etc.

Nghe An and Lam Dong have organized many supply and demand connections between the two provinces. Currently, some products of Lam Dong province are available in Nghe An market such as coffee, fruits, artichoke tea, wine, and other agricultural products... but in modest quantities.

At the conference, manufacturing enterprises and distributors from both sides visited product display booths, learned about trade connections and market development.

To enhance cooperation and market research for businesses, especially OCOP products and rural industries of the two provinces, speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Hoa suggested that distributors in Nghe An province learn about and approach agricultural products, OCOP products, and high-quality processed products of Lam Dong province to research and include them in their distribution chains. Businesses discussed and gave comments on production processes, quality, designs, production processes, etc. to further improve them in order to include them in the modern distribution system of Nghe An province.

Propose that the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province and enterprises increase their understanding of the market and products of Nghe An province; support enterprises of the province to participate in supply chains of Lam Dong province.

Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Hoa assigned the Center for Support and Development of Industry and Trade to act as the focal point, synthesizing the needs and products of Nghe An province with strengths to support businesses in expanding their markets in Lam Dong province.

At the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two departments and businesses of Nghe An and Lam Dong provinces.
