• KOREA - THE HIGHEST MARKET OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS TO LAM DONG

Lam Dong is a land with a favorable geographical location, a temperate climate, majestic natural scenery and a rich culture. In recent years, Lam Dong tourism industry has made great strides, from developing eco-tourism, resort and cultural tourism products, to sports and entertainment activities.

Lam Dong has gradually affirmed its position on the Vietnamese and international tourism map. In 2024 alone, Lam Dong welcomed more than 10.3 million visitors; of which, there were about 600,000 international visitors.

Over the years, Korea has always been one of the markets with the highest number of visitors to Lam Dong province in the international tourist market; in 2024, it reached 380,000 arrivals, accounting for 63.3% of total international arrivals. This shows the special attraction and increasingly deep interest of Korean tourists in the poetic, hospitable and culturally rich land of Da Lat - Lam Dong.

Along with diversifying tourism products including eco-tourism, resort, cultural and adventure tourism, Lam Dong province also focuses on investing and upgrading infrastructure and accommodation services to continuously improve the quality of service to tourists. Businesses are constantly striving to develop products and improve service quality to best meet the needs of tourists, especially Korean tourists.

A notable highlight is that Lien Khuong International Airport is the only international airport in the Central Highlands region, currently playing a key role in connecting traffic and developing tourism. Currently, the airport is operating many domestic and international routes, with the participation of airlines such as Jeju Air, Korean Air, AirAsia...

In the coming time, Lien Khuong Airport will be upgraded to 4E international standards with a designed capacity of 7 million passengers per year, which will create favorable conditions for expanding direct flights to major cities in Korea, contributing to shortening travel time, improving tourism experiences and strengthening cooperation between the two sides.

In addition, road traffic infrastructure is also being invested in with key projects such as the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway and the renovation of National Highway 28B. This will contribute to building a synchronous traffic network, convenient for inter-regional connections.

In the context of the new development orientation, the merger of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong and Binh Thuan will create a seamless tourism space, with unique advantages of mountains - forests - sea. The new Lam Dong province is expected to become a leading destination in the Asia - Pacific region, where visitors can seamlessly experience cool plateaus, pristine nature and vibrant beaches.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: With the goal of welcoming 40 - 45 million visitors/year by 2030; of which, international visitors account for 18 - 25%. Therefore, in today's meeting and exchange, businesses from both sides will focus on discussing and finding new solutions to promote the Korean tourist market to Lam Dong, maintaining the market with the highest number of visitors to Lam Dong province in the international tourist market.

Gyeonggi is the most populous province in Korea and is the economic, tourism and cultural center. In recent times, Gyeonggi Province has worked with the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association to conduct many exchange and cooperation activities with Vietnam.

Previously, Da Nang city of Vietnam was well known in Gyeonggi province, but now the interest in Lam Dong has increased a lot and many Koreans have visited Lam Dong. Vietnamese tourists have also been visiting Gyeonggi province a lot.

Through this visit to Lam Dong, I have confirmed the potential in the fields of tourism and trade. Many businesses and organizations in tourism, investment, trade, culture, and human resources in Gyeonggi Province are very interested in Vietnam but are hesitant due to lack of information. After this business trip, I will return to Korea and widely promote the potential and information of Lam Dong, and will cooperate with Lam Dong.
