Received 100 million VND back after more than 2 months of mistakenly transferring to the account of a person residing abroad

Di Linh town police assisted Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang in receiving back 100 million VND mistakenly transferred to the account of a woman living abroad.

Previously, on March 17, 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang (residing in Di Linh town) went to Di Linh town police to report the mistaken transfer of 100 million VND. Through verification, the police determined that Ms. Hang mistakenly transferred money to the bank account of Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thanh (residing in Tay Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City).

Di Linh town police coordinated with Tay Thanh ward police to contact the bank and learned that Ms. Thanh's account was no longer active because she had settled in Finland many years ago. The police tried to notify and ask Ms. Thanh to cooperate to resolve the case.

On June 5, on the occasion of returning to Vietnam, Ms. Thanh and the police worked with the bank and returned the money that Ms. Hang had mistakenly transferred according to the prescribed procedures.

Receiving the mistakenly transferred money back, Ms. Hang sent her sincere thanks to the officers and soldiers of the two police units and Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thanh personally for actively and enthusiastically supporting her to receive the money back.
