Latest football results on June 17: Bellingham helps England win

Despite being rated higher, the England team only won a minimal 1-0 victory against Serbia on the opening day of Group C EURO 2024.

Jude Bellingham scored the only goal after an assist from Bukayo Saka to bring complete joy to the Three Lions.

This result helps the England team to take the top position in Group C with 3 points after the opening match and have the advantage in the race for a ticket to the knockout round.

Previously, also in Group C, the match between Denmark and Slovenia ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw.

Denmark scored first in the first half through Christian Eriksen, but could not protect the result when Slovenia equalized through Erik Janza.

According to the schedule, in the second match of Group C, England will "fight" Denmark for the top spot, while Slovenia will face Serbia. Both matches will take place on June 20 (Vietnam time).

Previously, Group D also officially entered EURO 2024 with the match between the Netherlands and Poland.

Cody Gakpo and Wout Weghorst took turns scoring to help the "Orange Storm" come from behind to win 2-1 after Poland surprisingly opened the scoring through Adam Buksa.
