On January 19, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, the opening ceremony of the program "Green Banh Chung - Tet for the Poor" in 2025 took place.
In his opening speech, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village and Head of the Organizing Committee Pham Van Quyen said that the program "Green Banh Chung - Tet for the Poor" in 2025 aims to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists the unique cultural features in the traditional Tet celebration tradition of the Vietnamese people, contributing to preserving, maintaining and promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
This is also an opportunity for generations of Vietnamese people to show solidarity, mutual love, and join hands to continue and promote the tradition of helping each other, sharing the spirit of welcoming the traditional Giap Thin New Year with warmth and affection, towards a peaceful and prosperous new year.
At the same time, it presents a diverse cultural picture, with many ethnic cultural colors, contributing to promoting and introducing the "Common House" of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village to domestic and international friends to strengthen the building and consolidation of the great solidarity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, encourage the spirit of excitement, welcome the new spring with a new spirit of the Vietnamese ethnic community; therebyeducating generations of Vietnamese people about the sense of responsibility in preserving, maintaining and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the nation.
Over the past 11 years of organizing this program (2015-2025), the Organizing Committee has mobilized nearly 700 gifts to give to the poor in Vinh Trung commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province; Dinh Tien, Yen Dinh, Thanh Hoa. Ninh Lai, Son Duong, Tuyen Quang, 04 communes of Son Tay town, Thach That, Ba Vi, Hanoi ; Ethnic communities are operating daily at the Cultural - Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups... thereby affirming the tradition of solidarity, sharing the joys and sorrows of the Vietnamese people and especially the philanthropists.
"We hope that these will be small gifts but filled with our warm feelings and will bring families small joys when welcoming the new year, contributing more strength to the whole nation to prepare to enter a new era - the era of growth", comrade Pham Van Quyen expressed.
