Opening of the 2025 National Youth Volleyball Championship

28 youth volleyball teams of men and women attended the opening ceremony.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Quynh Thien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Kien Soc Kha, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Duong Hoang Sum, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Dao Xuan Chung, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and representatives of sponsoring units...

Comrade Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Vice Chairwoman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Council presented flowers to the men's football teams participating in the tournament.

The 2025 National Youth Volleyball Championship attracts 13 men's teams (under 20 years old) and 15 women's teams (under 19 years old) from localities and units across the country.

The teams will be divided into 2 groups for men and 3 groups for women to compete in a round-robin format. The teams with the best results will then compete in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

Comrade Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee presented flowers to the women's football teams participating in the tournament.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Cao Quoc Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh, said that this year's tournament took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the country's major anniversaries; celebrating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. In particular, for Tra Vinh, this is an occasion for the province to be honored by the President's decision to award the Ho Chi Minh Medal and the Prime Minister's decision to recognize the province for completing the task of building a new rural area.

Comrade Cao Quoc Dung, Deputy Director of Tra Vinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered the opening speech.

For the tournament to be successful, Comrade Cao Quoc Dung requested the members of the Organizing Committee and the referees to strictly implement the rules, regulations and assigned tasks. In performing their tasks, they must uphold the sense of responsibility, make every effort, and run the tournament scientifically, fairly and accurately.

For the athletes, try your best to compete with the spirit of sportsmanship, solidarity, honesty, and nobility; dedicate to the audience good matches, beautiful plays, creating a tournament with high quality in terms of expertise and attractiveness in the hearts of fans.

Comrade Kien Soc Kha, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, presented souvenir flags to the football teams participating in the tournament.

After the opening ceremony, the tournament proceeded to the men's group A match between the host team Tra Vinh and Ben Tre. The match was exciting from the start and after 1 hour and 49 minutes of play, Tra Vinh team won the final match with a score of 3 - 1, with the scores of the games being: 25/17, 31/33, 25/21 and 25/20 respectively.

The organizers presented flowers and thanked the sponsors of the prize.

In the match in Group E of the women's tournament that took place later, Coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa and her team, VTV Binh Dien Long An, won 3-0 against Quang Ninh team (25/15, 25/10 and 25/17).

Meanwhile, the results of the four matches that took place before the opening ceremony were as follows: Thai Binh women's team won Thanh Hoa women's team 3-0; Binh Duong men's team won Ha Tinh men's team 3-1; Ninh Binh women's team won Hung Yen women's team 3-0 and SKH Pearl Net Khanh Hoa men's team won Long An men's team 3-0.

The tournament will continue every day from May 4 to 18 with a total of 80 matches. The women's final is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. and the men's final is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. on May 18. After that, the Organizing Committee will summarize and award prizes.
