Opening of the Northwest - Dien Bien 2024 Industry and Trade Fair

Comrade Pham Duc Toan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the Fair.

The 2024 Northwest - Dien Bien Industry and Trade Fair will be held from April 19 to April 25 at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien Phu City with over 300 standard booths, attracting over 140 domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises to participate. This is one of the few large-scale, diverse and rich Fairs implemented in Dien Bien province. The Fair is organized to contribute to introducing and promoting traditional and competitive products of the region. In addition, promoting the advantages of cultural values hidden in traditional products to attract consumers, promote export activities, and increase the added value of products. Not only meeting the needs of domestic trade development but also aiming to boost the export of Vietnamese goods and services.

In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Duc Toan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee and the participation of domestic agencies and enterprises and the provinces of Northern Laos. Dien Bien province considers this a favorable opportunity for domestic localities and enterprises to meet; share information, seek markets, connect with partners and introduce and promote products. At the same time, further tighten and strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao PDR in general, the Northwest region and in the field of Industry and Trade in particular.

The fair is an important trade promotion activity under the National Trade Promotion Program in 2024, directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, the Trade Promotion Department, the Department of Industry and Trade of Dien Bien province, the Trade Promotion Center of Dien Bien province in coordination with localities and related units to organize and implement. With the goal of developing trade associated with tourism, promoting the potential and advantages of the locality, as well as creating conditions for market expansion, connecting supply and demand between the provinces of the Northwest region and the whole country.
