Opening of the Vietnam - Laos Trade Connection Fair 2025 in Vientiane

The fair is jointly organized by the Ministry of National Defense , Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of National Defense , Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos. This is an activity under the National Trade Promotion Program 2025.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam attended and delivered the opening speech. Also attending were Comrade Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos; Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim - Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army; representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , ministries and branches of the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang emphasized: The fair took place in a solemn atmosphere towards the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, an activity of profound significance in consolidating and fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, two Armies and peoples of the two countries.

Senior Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army, emphasized that this is an important event to promote cooperation, economic development and national defense of the two countries. The Lao Party, State and people always respect and are grateful to Vietnam for always standing side by side to help Laos overcome difficulties and gradually develop sustainably.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense presented many gifts to policy families; donated some computer equipment to the Lao Ministry of National Defense and commended a number of businesses that have made many contributions to social security activities.

This year’s fair saw the participation of many businesses inside and outside the military with many typical products of Vietnam and Laos. Each booth was a message of creativity, belief and aspiration to grow together of the two economies.

"This is an opportunity for businesses of the two countries to strengthen connections, share opportunities, and develop together sustainably in the ASEAN cooperation space," said Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang .

Within the framework of the Fair, the VietnamCultural Space is a highlight. Organized by the Vietnam Military History Museum (under the direction of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army), it introduces typical documents and artifacts along with cultural and culinary experiences of the regions, contributing to effectively promoting the image of Vietnamese culture, country and people.

Previously, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang and his delegation visited and worked at the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos. He highly appreciated the positive contributions of Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and his staff in strengthening the relationship between the Party, State, National Defense and people of the two countries. The Senior Lieutenant General acknowledged the practical support solutions to promote economic development for Laos and expressed his hope that the Embassy would continue to have many suggestions and support for Vietnamese military units to successfully complete their tasks in the neighboring country.
