Opening of the 9th National Excellent Teaching Competition for Provincial and Central Municipal Political Schools in 2025

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City, Co-Head of the Steering Committee of the Contest; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee of the Contest, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; Deputy Directors of the Academy, representatives of leaders of provincial and municipal Party Committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and leaders of 63 political schools of provinces and centrally run cities, 14 political schools under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security and 142 lecturers participating in the Contest.

The contest took place from May 19 to May 21, 2025 at To Hieu Political School, Hai Phong City. The national contest for excellent lecturers of political schools in provinces and centrally run cities is held every 5 years/2 times. Up to now, after 8 contests, it has attracted a large number of lecturers from schools to participate with good quality, including many lecturers recognized as excellent teachers and achieved the title of excellent teachers. The contest is an opportunity for the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, provincial and municipal Party Committees directly under the Central Government to assess the quality of the teaching staff of political schools, thereby having plans and measures for training and fostering to improve the quality of the teaching staff to meet the requirements of building standard political schools according to Regulation No. 11-QD/TW, dated May 19, 2021 of the Secretariat. Faced with high demands for standardizing the teaching staff, standardizing training, fostering, scientific research, and summarizing the practices of provincial political schools, the evaluation of lecturers through competitions (school-level competitions, national competitions) is very necessary. The competitions are also an opportunity for lecturers of schools to learn, exchange, and improve their expertise; practice skills, pedagogical methods; and improve their professional qualifications.

The new point of this contest is that in addition to the two contest contents: lesson plan contest, teaching contest, the participating lecturers will take the pedagogical situation handling contest. The contest content is the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the lecturers in the process of handling situations related to the training of the Intermediate Political Theory program. The contest result is the average score of the 3 contest parts, in which the teaching contest is scored with a coefficient of 3, the lesson plan contest and the pedagogical situation handling contest are scored with a coefficient of 1. The scientific score is the converted score of the scientific work accepted or published between the two contests of the participating lecturers, which is the condition for the Jury to classify the titles of "Good lecturer", "Excellent lecturer".

In addition to the contest content, the activities of the contest were rich, lively and practical such as: Offering incense to the Monument of Comrade To Hieu, photo exhibition, achievements of political school work, book display; especially, the contest organized a gala night with the theme: "Hai Phong - 70 years of faith and aspiration to rise up" between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and political schools, schools of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security; visiting the city after the contest. These activities help strengthen the connection, create a spreading power, an exciting atmosphere for the contest, creating a close connection between Hai Phong, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, provincial and municipal party committees and political schools, schools of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, stated that the contest has practical significance in contributing to improving the capacity, building prestige, and exemplary image of Party school lecturers. This is an important forum for political theory lecturers, especially young lecturers, to exchange and share experiences, update and supplement knowledge, innovate teaching methods, and improve pedagogical skills. The results of the contest are not only to select and recognize good lecturers, but also to affirm the results and experiences in organizing training and fostering political theory. Through the contest, it will create interesting exchanges, discussions, and professional sharing between lecturers of political schools and lecturers of armed forces schools. He highly appreciated the preparation process for the contest; Acknowledging the high sense of responsibility of the Principals and the collective leadership of the schools, the comrades have closely followed the regulations and plans of the Academy to implement the quality and effectiveness of the grassroots competition and have invested carefully and seriously for lecturers to participate in the national competition.

In order for the 9th National Competition for Excellent Lecturers of Political Schools of Provinces and Cities under the Central Government to achieve the best results, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics suggested that the lecturers participating in the competition this time should consider this a great honor and an opportunity to demonstrate their talents, maximize their abilities and professional experience to carry out the lecture content well; fully and seriously implement the rules, regulations and plans of the Competition. The members of the Jury need to promote the highest sense of responsibility, carry out the marking well, ensure the evaluation according to the Competition Regulations, be truly impartial, objective, accurate, and substantive, discover truly excellent and exemplary lecturers, and encourage lecturers with potential for development. The Organizing Committee of the Contest needs to prepare the best necessary conditions, ensuring that the Contest takes place safely, economically, on schedule, with quality, and actively spreading the Contest spirit to a large number of cadres, lecturers, and students of political schools across the country. At the same time, it is requested that the Principals of the schools and members of the delegation seriously participate in all the activities of the Contest to create a vibrant, positive, and widespread Contest atmosphere.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau emphasized that the Competition for Excellent Lecturers at Political Schools is an important and practical activity for the training and fostering of political theory at political schools - where the "root work of the Party" is carried out; it is an important forum for teachers of political theory to exchange experiences in teaching activities, improve pedagogical skills, update knowledge, and innovate teaching methods; at the same time, it also contributes to spreading and inspiring the study of political theory to cadres, party members and all classes of people. This competition is not only an opportunity for lecturers to assert themselves but also an opportunity to promote the qualitative development of teaching and learning political theory in the new situation, facing new requirements and new challenges.
