Opening of the chestnut season in Quang Lac commune in 2024

- On the morning of August 25, the People's Committee of Quang Lac commune , Lang Son city organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 chestnut season in Quang Lac commune.

Attending the program were Comrade Doan Thi Loan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of Lang Son City Party Committee; representatives of some provincial departments, branches and sectors, leaders of some districts; representatives of some enterprises in the province and a large number of people and tourists.

Special performance at the opening ceremony

The grafted chestnut planting model has been planted in Quang Lac commune since 2003 and has been identified as one of the commune's key products. Since 2015, the Party Committee and the government of Quang Lac commune have implemented projects to support people. Up to now, the chestnut planting area in the commune has been over 100 hectares, with an average annual output of tens of tons, bringing high income to the people in the commune.

Chestnut products have been registered as a trademark and have been ordered by many customers not only in the city market but also inside and outside the province. In 2020, Lang Son fresh chestnuts were honored by the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development as "Vietnam Golden Agricultural Brand 2020".

During the program, delegates enjoyed folk songs, Then singing and Tinh lute performances from clubs in the city and the provincial folk song preservation association with the theme of praising the glorious Party, beloved Uncle Ho and love for the homeland and country. At the same time, delegates also enjoyed chestnut products such as chestnut milk, moon cakes made from chestnuts, chestnut sticky rice...

This is the third year that Quang Lac commune has maintained the organization of the chestnut season opening program to honor the chestnut growing profession, introduce chestnut gardens to delegates, people and connect with tourists from all over the world; promote local OCOP products, associated with cultural and artistic programs and experiences.
