The program is a practical activity in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, commemorating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2).
The Book and Reading Culture Festival of Dak Nong province in 2025 took place from May 15-17 with many attractive activities such as: book exhibition and display; discussion "Developing reading culture, entering a new era with books - the era of national growth"; festival of modern dance groups of high schools, intermediate schools and colleges in Dak Nong province in 2025; art program to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh; awarding prizes for the poetry contest in Nam Nung Magazine...
In addition to provincial-level activities, districts, cities, agencies and units in the area also organize many activities in response to Book and Reading Culture Day 2025, focusing from March to the end of May 2025.
This is the 6th consecutive year that Dak Nong province has maintained the organization of provincial-level activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day. The festival contributes to affirming the role and importance of books; honoring the values of books in social life; honoring readers and those who participate in collecting, composing, publishing, printing, distributing, preserving and promoting books.
This year's festival has the participation and support of publishing units, agencies and enterprises, including 6 booths, with more than 4,000 books of all kinds.
Readers can visit, shop, and experience free reading at display booths, exhibitions, and book sales at preferential prices; experience mobile library vehicles; check-in with the festival with fun hashtags; and admire artistic book stacking models.
The festival also organizes free calligraphy paintings; organizes folk games and entertainment services for children.
At the opening ceremony, businesses, publishers, and units presented gifts such as bookcases, books, audiobooks, notebooks, paintings, etc. to units and schools in the area.
Also at the opening ceremony, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Nong province launched the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025. The contest is open to primary, middle and high school students in the area, in the form of writing or making videos with 2 preliminary and final rounds. The closing and award ceremony of the contest is expected to take place at the end of June 2025 with a structure of 39 prizes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh requested that all levels, sectors, localities, schools, media agencies, and enterprises continue to pay attention, invest, and create conditions to strongly develop reading culture; organize many creative and effective activities to bring books to everyone, every home. At the same time, she hopes that students, the future owners of the country, will cultivate the habit of reading every day, turning reading into joy, into a motivation for learning and self-development; "entering the era of national growth with books" with aspirations, knowledge, and a spirit of constant innovation.
