At the exhibition, more than 30 paintings and sculptures were introduced to the public. The works recorded the journey of artist Dinh Phong returning to his passion for art, leaving behind material constraints.
Notably, the works at the exhibition mostly use metal materials instead of common painting materials such as oil paint, lacquer, acrylic paint. Artist Dinh Phong has turned iron and steel into something soft as silk, stainless steel as bright as water, and metal as deep as earth.
The metal pieces are cut, ground, bent, oxidized, impacted, layered, etc., seemingly telling the story of time, force and the artist's spirit.

Sharing at the opening ceremony, artist Dinh Phong expressed: “About a year ago, I started going back and forth, observing and exploring. Then I chose copper, iron and steel mesh. I saw that no one had done it yet, so I did it. Just experiment. However, creating with metal is not a smooth road. It is extremely hard and heavy labor. You have to concentrate highly and have good health. I worked until my fingerprints were worn out to create these works.”
The exhibition is like a new touch to the life of fine arts. Not following trends, not borrowing writing techniques, artist Dinh Phong goes from pure physical labor and intuition to create a unique visual language that is powerful, rough but rich in poetry.

At the opening ceremony, artist Thanh Chuong shared: “I looked at it very carefully and was very interested. There were works that moved me. Dinh Phong is one of the rare artists who created something truly new for Vietnamese fine arts. I had to touch and observe it carefully to see what it was. Seeing that it was steel plates, corrugated iron sheets, steel mesh… opened up a lot of thoughts for me about materials.”
The exhibition runs until December 14.
