Delegates cut the ribbon.

The project started in early August 2025, with a total area of nearly 200 square meters, funded mainly from socialized support sources; officers and soldiers contributed about 500 working days.

The statue is cast in monolithic concrete, painted gray, 1.8m high; the pedestal is made of reinforced concrete covered with black glitter stone; the steps and yard system are paved with stone and anti-slip bricks; equipped with a solar lighting system.

The work is modeled after the prototype "Listen to the mountains and rivers" by artist Vu Trong Khoi, depicting the image of Uncle Ho kindly advising border soldiers.

The Monument is located at the center of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station.

During the construction process, despite the prolonged rainy and stormy weather and the unit simultaneously carrying out the task of building a pilot unit, the construction progress encountered many difficulties. With the spirit of solidarity and determination, the officers and soldiers made efforts to complete the project after 3 months, practically making achievements to welcome the 14th National Party Congress.

The monument “Listening to the country - Uncle Ho with Border soldiers” is a project with profound traditional educational significance, a place for officers and soldiers to offer incense, report achievements, and remind each Border soldier to always unite, overcome difficulties, and complete assigned tasks well, “all for the peace of the Fatherland's border”.

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always had special affection for the Border Guard force. His instructions and poems at the force's founding ceremony on March 28, 1959 and the National People's Armed Police Emulation Congress in 1962 became the guideline and motivation for generations of border guards to strive, train and protect the Fatherland's borders.
