With 220 images corresponding to 220 years of the provincial capital, the photo exhibition and photo book " Thanh Hoa City past and present" vividly and honestly show the process of formation, construction and development of Thanh Hoa City.

On the morning of December 16, at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City held the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition and introduced the photo book "Thanh Hoa City past and present" to celebrate the 220th anniversary of the provincial capital (1804 - 2024), the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Thanh Hoa City (1994 - 2024) and the 10th anniversary of the first-class urban area (2014 - 2024).

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Le Anh Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa City; leaders of provincial departments and branches, leaders of wards, communes and schools in Thanh Hoa City.

The photo book "Thanh Hoa City past and present" is a collection of images of the city from 1804 to 2024, inherited from the photo book "Thanh Hoa City formation and development" published in 2004, continuing to research, collect, supplement and compile many new images, introducing the land and people, historical traditions, culture, the process of building a civilized, friendly city, towards a smart, civilized, modern urban area.
The book is arranged chronologically, divided into 3 chapters, each chapter is divided into specific stages: Chapter I: Thanh Hoa Citadel from 1804 to 1945; Chapter II: Thanh Hoa town in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, restoring and healing the wounds of war, and renovating the town (1945 - 1994); Chapter III: Thanh Hoa city from 1994 to present. The content of the photo book is divided according to the historical process and based on important events and milestones that affect the economic, political and social life of the city's people.

The photos were compiled in the book and selected for display as documentary films exploring the ancient citadel and Thanh Hoa City today. These photos are not only valuable in terms of history and revolutionary struggle traditions but also in terms of culture and art, truly reflecting the transformation in social life, nature and people of Thanh Hoa City; affirming the achievements of the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and people of Thanh Hoa City after nearly 40 years of renovation and the determination to strive to become a smart and civilized city by 2030, contributing significantly to Thanh Hoa Province becoming a new growth pole in the North of the country.

Thanh Hoa City People's Committee organized a photo exhibition and introduced the photo book "Thanh Hoa City past and present" to affirm that in the 220-year history of formation and development, along with the potentials and strengths of nature, society and people, it will truly become a strong driving force to promote the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Hoa City to be determined and steadfast in the new development period, towards the future of being a "livable city". The ancient citadel and the city today will forever be the pride of Thanh land, of the people of Thanh Hoa city throughout the heroic and glorious history of building and defending the country.
The photo exhibition and introduction of the photo book "Thanh Hoa City past and present" was organized by the Provincial People's Committee from December 17 to December 22, 2024 for a large number of officials, party members and people of Thanh Hoa City and tourists from all over to come and learn.
