The tourist train connecting Hue - Da Nang is called "Central Heritage Connection Journey" with its own identity of the heritage journey through Hai Van Pass, combining unique cultural and culinary services. Every day, Vietnam Railways Corporation organizes 2 pairs of trains with the numbers HD1, HD2 and HD3, HD4 between Hue and Da Nang.
Specifically in Hue, train HD1 departs from Hue station at 7:45 am and arrives at Da Nang station at 10:35 am; train HD3 departs from Hue station at 2:25 pm and arrives at Da Nang at 5:40 pm. In Da Nang, train HD2 departs from Da Nang station at 7:50 am and arrives at Hue station at 11:05 am; train HD4 departs from Da Nang station at 3:00 pm and arrives at Hue station at 5:45 pm. This train will pass through the most beautiful railway line in Vietnam, Hai Van Pass - which has been voted by some international travel newspapers as one of the most beautiful and worth-experiencing railway lines in the world . On the way, the trains will stop at Lang Co station for 10 minutes so that passengers can admire the beauty, check-in, and take photos of Lang Co Bay - one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Each train consists of 5 soft-seat cars with air conditioning, including 1 community car serving local cultural and culinary programs.
During the opening month, Vietnam Railways Corporation applied a preferential ticket price of 150,000 VND/ticket; monthly ticket price of 900,000 VND/ticket and a discount of 10% - 50% for passengers who are policy beneficiaries. The railway industry is aiming at the luxury tourist train segment, connecting more localities and regions. Putting into operation the Hue - Da Nang railway tourist train not only meets the travel needs of people but also provides an interesting experience for international and domestic tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, said: "The Hue - Da Nang train with the journey connecting the heritage of the Central region has officially been put into operation with 2 pairs of trains departing daily with a journey time of 3 hours. The train will pass through the most beautiful railway route in Vietnam with famous landscapes, especially the Hai Van pass which has been voted by many international press and tourism agencies and included in the most beautiful and worth-experiencing routes in the world. This is a driving force to further connect the two localities to exploit the existing tourism potential of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang city".
