Free medical examination and medicine for people in Quang Tri province

Huong Hiep is a poor mountainous commune of Dakrong district, people's lives still face many difficulties, the poverty rate is still high, so access to medical services and health care is still limited.

In order to share the difficulties with the people, in one day, the medical team of Military Hospital 268 examined, distributed free medicine and provided health consultation on diseases such as: cardiovascular, bone and joint, high blood pressure, other common diseases for over 700 people belonging to policy families, meritorious people, poor households, families in difficult circumstances...

Provide free medicine to people after medical examination.

The total cost of medical examination and free medicine of the Program is 150 million VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Manh Ha, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 268, Military Region 4, said: “To ensure effective health examination, consultation, and free medicine provision, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the hospital have directed specialized agencies to coordinate with local Party Committees and authorities to survey and understand the needs of the people. On that basis, the hospital has sent a team of highly qualified and experienced doctors and nurses to establish specialized clinics and medicine dispensing rooms with many modern medical examination machines and equipment.”

Taking advantage of arriving very early to get examined, Ms. Ho Thi Lia, in Gia Gia village, Huong Hiep commune, Dakrong district shared: “Today, when I heard that doctors from Military Hospital 268 came to examine me, I was very excited. I have osteoarthritis and the doctor enthusiastically guided me, so I feel very secure and I will follow the doctor's advice to quickly recover.”

It is known that the activity of examining and providing free medicine to the people of Huong Hiep commune is part of the series of activities of the program "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading love", the campaign "Millions of compassionate footsteps - Continuing the golden history" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Through health examination, consultation and free medicine distribution, we have contributed to the effective implementation of policies for families in difficult circumstances and people with revolutionary contributions; improving the quality of health care for the people. At the same time, we have consolidated and strengthened the solidarity between the army and the people and spread the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the image of military doctors in the hearts of the people.

Also in the program, the Military Medical Department, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Quang Tri Provincial Red Cross Society presented 10 gifts to 10 disadvantaged households and 700 gifts to households benefiting from free medical examination and medicine provision activities, worth 550 million VND.

Representatives of the Military Medical Department, Military Hospital 268 and the Red Cross Society of Quang Tri province presented gifts to policy families in the area.
