Searching the house of the woman who incited people to protest the construction of Long Son port

On the evening of October 28, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that in the afternoon of the same day, Nghi Son Town Police conducted an emergency search of the residence of Ms. CTL (32 years old, residing in Hai Ha commune, Nghi Son Town, Thanh Hoa).

During the search, the police seized a number of documents related to organizing and inciting crowds to oppose the construction of a container port.

Previously, from October 17, hundreds of people from Hai Ha commune gathered at the port construction area to protest against the construction of the port. The peak was at around 8:30 a.m. on October 23, when hundreds of people (all living in Hai Ha commune) gathered at the Long Son container port construction area to protest the project.

Many people carried banners protesting the project, saying it would affect the fishing of hundreds of households.

On October 23, the Nghi Son Town Police Investigation Agency decided to initiate a case to investigate the act of disturbing public order that occurred in the area planned for the construction of Long Son container port, in Ha Nam village (Hai Ha commune).

According to local authorities, the boat mooring area of Hai Ha commune residents will not be affected by the construction and use of the Long Son container port project.

It is known that the Long Son container port project is a large, key project of Thanh Hoa province and is expected to start construction at the end of October. Up to now, the procedures according to the project's regulations have been completed, however, when the investor prepared to start the project, it faced opposition from the people.

The local government and the authorities of Thanh Hoa province have repeatedly communicated, dialogued, and informed the people that the Long Son container port project during the construction period and when completed and put into use will not affect the people's fishing, but the people still do not agree.
