With its stunning beaches and islands, Phu Quoc has become a popular and ideal destination. When you visit, you'll have many options to explore and experience. Ganh Dau Cape is just one of those many choices.
Ganh Dau is a headland jutting out into the sea in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island. Located in Ganh Dau commune, it boasts a pristine beach that possesses an irresistible beauty. It's often described as an unpolished gem.
Ganh Dau Cape is located about 30km from the center of Duong Dong town and about 3km from Hon Nan island in Cambodia. It borders Bai Thom beach to the east and Cua Can commune to the south. Ganh Dau covers an area of approximately 87km2 and has a population of about 12,000 people.
Located not too far from the town center, Ganh Dau offers an incredibly tranquil atmosphere. It's so quiet it feels as if no human foot has ever set foot there. The vast, majestic scenery unfolds before your eyes as you gaze from the sea towards the shore.
Many people might be hesitant to travel to Ganh Dau Cape because of its considerable distance from the island's center. However, your efforts will be well rewarded by the stunning scenery it offers. To reach this tourist destination, you have two options:
From Duong Dong town, follow Cach Mang Thang 8 Street straight, passing Cua Can. At the Ganh Gio intersection, turn right onto Bung Goi Street. Continue along Bung Goi Street to Cua Duong, then turn right towards Bai Thom. Continue along Nguyen Trung Truc Street, passing through the national park. When you reach the intersection of Duong Dong, Bai Thom, Suoi Cai, and Ganh Dau, turn left and go a short distance further to reach Ganh Dau Cape.
Alternatively, you can head west towards Rach Tram and travel to Ganh Dau Cape by sea. The second option seems more convenient and easier for you. However, traveling the first way will give you a more interesting experience.
What places should you visit when you go to Ganh Dau Cape?
- A curved coastline with rows of green trees
The atmosphere here will give you a very peaceful and pleasant feeling. The crescent-shaped beach embraces the surrounding green trees. Like many other beaches on Phu Quoc Island, the sea at Ganh Dau Cape is very clear, and the smooth golden sand stretches out, creating a picturesque scene.
The seawater here is crystal clear, allowing you to see all the way to the bottom. The lush green scenery is truly breathtaking. Watching the boats bobbing offshore, you'll feel lighter and more relaxed, as if all your worries and fatigue have been cast aside.
- Forest connects to sea
Ganh Dau Cape in Phu Quoc is often mentioned as the place where the forest meets the sea. If you visit, you'll agree. The forests here are lush green, with many tall, ancient trees extending right to the water's edge – something you'll rarely find on other beaches.
- Widespread reefs with diverse shapes
What captivates many visitors is the uniquely shaped rock formations. These rocks, eroded over a long period by seawater and wind, have become masterpieces of art.
Each rock formation has a unique shape. This is what gives Ganh Dau its charm and perfect beauty. For those who love to take photos for social media, this is a place to get millions of likes.
- Enjoy the scenery of Cambodia
This location is not too far from Cambodia. From here, you can admire the vast landscape of our neighboring country. Looking north, you will see Hon Nan and Ta Lon mountain. Looking west, you will see Hon Ban, like a precious gem nestled in the vast ocean. If you have a wooden boat, you can easily paddle across to it.
Visiting this tourist destination, you will not only breathe in the fresh air but also admire the pristine, unique, and captivating scenery.
What makes Ganh Dau Cape so attractive?
Compared to other tourist destinations on the island, Ganh Dau Cape is a relatively new tourist spot. It has only recently been added to the list of tourist attractions in Phu Quoc. Because of this, the scenery here remains very pristine and possesses an authentic beauty. You will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the magnificent gift that nature has bestowed upon this place.
Many people will compare Ganh Dau to the southern part of Phu Quoc Island. Compared to the South, this place is still very pristine and sparsely populated. But the natural scenery here is no less stunning. Ganh Dau is considered a rare masterpiece of Phu Quoc Island, a work of art that nature has bestowed upon the northern part of the island.
The beach here is sheltered by two mountains. From here, you can clearly see the sea and mountains of Cambodia. In addition, Ganh Dau Cape has many coral reefs, rocks and fish, especially red grouper.
Visiting this tourist destination, you can not only immerse yourself in the cool, refreshing water, but also stroll along the beach to visit the houses of the local residents. And best of all, you'll get to enjoy many delicious, fresh seafood dishes at incredibly cheap prices.
While not particularly outstanding or unique, Ganh Dau Cape possesses something not found everywhere. Therefore, if you have the chance, you should visit this beautiful island at least once.
