DTO - The storm in the early morning of July 23, 2025 caused damage to hundreds of houses in My Ngai ward, Ba Sao commune..., many people were injured, many families suddenly fell into the situation of "sleeping on the ground". This is a warning about extreme weather phenomena affecting the safety of people's lives and property during the rainy and stormy season.

The house in Hamlet 16, My Ngai Ward was swept away in the tornado in the early morning of July 23, leaving only the foundation and furniture in ruins.

Suddenly found himself homeless

Trees were uprooted, stripped of leaves, broken, houses had their roofs blown off, collapsed completely, corrugated iron sheets flew up and got tangled in electric wires, some houses had only the foundation and rubble left, that was the image of many families in Hamlets 12, 14, 15, 16 (My Ngai Ward) and Ba Sao Commune after the tornado in the early morning of July 23. In addition, some people were injured by objects flying in the tornado.

Still in shock after the tornado that occurred in the early morning of July 23, Ms. Do Thi Hang Nhi (40 years old, residing in Hamlet 16, My Ngai Ward) recounted the terrifying moment: “I was sleeping when I heard the wind howling. I had just sat up when the tornado hit, blowing away the entire house. The corrugated iron roof flew out into the field. I was thrown to one side. I am 7 months pregnant, luckily I only suffered minor scratches, not affecting the fetus.”

According to Nhi, she and her husband saved up to have a house for more than a year, with a tiled floor, iron frame, and corrugated iron roof. Her husband works as a bricklayer, and she sews clothes at home. “Now the house is gone, and the sewing machine and customers’ fabrics were also blown away by the wind. My relatives, neighbors, and local authorities have helped me set up a temporary shelter. I am very worried about my due date. I don’t know how my family will survive in the future...” - Nhi choked up as she shared.

Not far away, the family of Mr. Ha Van Tuan (52 years old, living in Ba Sao commune) also found themselves homeless in an instant. Mr. Tuan recounted in shock: “My family has 4 people including me, my grandchild and my daughter and her husband. At around 4am, I heard the wind whistling on the roof. I sat up, walked out and called my child. Before I could finish saying: “Son, wake up, I hear strange wind and rain”, the tornado had blown away the entire house. I was thrown off my feet, my head was bleeding profusely. My relatives promptly took me to the hospital for emergency treatment.”

Sitting silently in front of the ruins, Mrs. Day said: My husband and I just renovated the house to make it more spacious, planning to live in peace until old age. Unexpectedly, after just one storm, the family fell into difficult circumstances.
