The workshop is an important occasion to look back on the 80-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly, affirming the historical values and central role of the National Assembly in the political system; at the same time, summarizing achievements, lessons learned, and pointing out the requirements for innovation to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the new period.

The presentations and opinions at the workshop will focus on analyzing the Party's comprehensive leadership of the National Assembly over the past 80 years; clarifying the process of the National Assembly performing its constitutional, legislative, supreme supervision functions and deciding on important issues of the country; proposing orientations and solutions to build a democratic, rule-of-law, professional, modern National Assembly closely connected with the people.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Thong, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, commented: The organization of the National Scientific Conference on the National Assembly of Vietnam - 80 years of formation and development on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) has a particularly profound significance, not only for the highest legislative body of the country but also for the entire political system and the people.
Through the workshop, it will contribute to raising awareness of the people, agencies and organizations at home and abroad about the image of the Vietnamese National Assembly as a democratic, professional, modern and integrated one.

According to delegate Nguyen Huu Thong, the workshop is a prestigious scientific forum for Party, State, and National Assembly agencies at the central and local levels, along with experts, scientists, and managers to exchange and summarize the 80-year history of formation and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly from the Tan Trao National Congress in 1945 to the present-day National Assembly.

Through this, we have a comprehensive and systematic view, both consolidating the theoretical basis and drawing valuable lessons for the future development of the National Assembly. This is also a form of traditional education, contributing to fostering the trust, national pride and sense of responsibility of generations of delegates.
At the same time, firmly affirm the position and role of the National Assembly as the highest state power body, the highest representative body of the people, well performing the legislative, supervisory and decision-making functions of the country.
I especially hope that this important political event will become a new milestone, creating momentum for the National Assembly to continue affirming its role as the center of State power, the embodiment of the will, aspirations and strength of great national unity, for a renewed and developed Vietnam.
