At noon on November 19, the People's Committee of Lam Son commune ( Khanh Hoa province) informed that due to prolonged heavy rain, about 10 landslides appeared in the Ngoan Muc pass area (also known as Song Pha pass, National Highway 27), posing a potential safety risk.
Specifically, on the night of November 18, Ngoan Muc Pass had 6 landslides; by the morning of November 19, there were 4 more landslides, with rocks and soil spilling onto the road. Currently, the authorities are mobilizing human resources and machinery to handle the situation.
Mr. Dinh Van Tri, Chairman of Lam Son Commune People's Committee, said: "Currently, the commune is experiencing heavy rain, and there is a risk of landslides continuing to occur. To ensure safety and avoid traffic congestion, local authorities recommend that people limit their travel through Ngoan Muc Pass area."
Previously, from the night of November 16 to the morning of November 17, Lam Son commune had prolonged heavy rain, with at least 12 landslides on Ngoan Muc pass. Authorities had to temporarily close the road to fix the problem. Up to now, landslides continue to recur, posing a very high risk of insecurity.
