

Son Dong Communal House is an ancient architectural work, built in the year of Chinh Hoa (1695) and was restored and repaired many times during the Nguyen Dynasty, especially in the year of Gia Long 16 (1817) when the Rear Palace was repaired, and in the year of Minh Mang 7 (1826) when the Great Worship Hall was continued to be repaired. This place preserves many architectural features of high cultural and aesthetic value. After the demolition process, many special carvings and architectural styles were discovered converging in the rear palace, demonstrating the talented hands of the artisans who built and preserved Son Dong Communal House to this day.

In 1986, Son Dong communal house, along with the following relics: Ky Da Pagoda, Dien Phuc Pagoda, Thuong Temple, and the 6-branch Tu Vu family temple, were ranked as national relics.
To preserve and promote the cultural and historical values of the relic, while meeting the cultural and religious needs of local people. The project to restore and embellish the Son Dong communal house relic was approved by the People's Committee of the old Hoai Duc district in 2020 for investment policy, approved the design drawings and construction in June 2024...


After a period of active construction, with the efforts of the construction units, the close supervision of the local authorities, and the consensus of the people, the project was completed on schedule with a total investment of 13 billion VND, including the following items: Restoration and embellishment of the communal house gate, front hall, main hall, back hall, shelter, fire prevention and fighting and some other auxiliary items.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Son Dong Commune People's Committee Pham Gia Loc requested the commune's specialized departments and offices to do a good job of state management of relics, making the relics not only a place for cultural and religious activities of the community, but also a resource in tourism development, developing cultural industry in the new era of the nation. At the same time, the Party cell committees, the Front Work Committees of the villages: Chieu, Dinh, Dong, Dong, Gach, Nga Tu, Ranh, Ro, Thuong, Xa, Han and the Son Dong communal house celebration committee continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, preserve relics; strictly prohibit the act of adding, replacing, painting and gilding worship objects without the opinion of specialized agencies; build a civilized lifestyle at the relics, contributing to building the homeland to be more and more sustainable, rich, beautiful and civilized.
