Dynamic farmers get rich
The family of Mr. Ma Van Phuong, a Tay ethnic group in Ao Bong village, is one of the typical households that have risen to become good economic people . More than 10 years ago, after attending a seminar of Nippon Zoki Company (Nippon Group - Japan) on New Zealand white rabbit breeding techniques, he realized that this was a promising direction suitable for his family's conditions. This breed of rabbit has the advantage of growing quickly. After more than a year of raising, the mother rabbits begin to reproduce, each year from 7 to 8 litters, each litter from 6 to 9 rabbits; commercial rabbits are raised for only 3 to 3.5 months to reach a weight of 3kg, and can be sold.

Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Phuong invested in building a barn that was airy, clean, and complied with hygiene and disease prevention procedures. Through training courses, he implemented a method of mixing food rations consisting of 70% vegetables, grass, and 30% concentrated feed. In particular, he strictly followed veterinary procedures for caring for baby rabbits, weaning them, and raising breeding rabbits.
In 2015, he boldly established Hop Thanh Rabbit Breeding Service Cooperative, signing a contract to guarantee stable output with Nippon Zoki Company. From the initial 100 breeding rabbits, his family now maintains 800 - 2 thousand rabbits; each month sells 250 - 300 rabbits. After deducting expenses, the stable income is from 10 - 15 million VND/month.
Not only is he good at business, Mr. Phuong also enthusiastically shares his experience and directly guides rabbit farming techniques to many other members. Thanks to that, the movement of "farmers helping each other get rich" in the Son Dong highlands is increasingly spreading, creating community cohesion and motivation for sustainable development.

She said: "More than ten years ago, my family was very poor. After trips to Lang Son to buy forestry seedlings to sell to people, I learned more about wood peeling. In 2014, my husband and I decided to open a wood peeling workshop. The work was favorable, and in 2020, the family opened a sawmill to supply raw materials to fine art woodworking establishments in and outside the province."
Currently, Mrs. Lam's two wood workshops are operating regularly, generating an income of more than 200 million VND/month, creating jobs for 15-20 local workers.
