The project has a total support of 116,000 euros, including 3 main items: Planning and construction of Cua Dai coastal green corridor (about 3.2 km long); construction of Cua Dai coastal ecological park (Au Co park); and conservation of wild bird habitat areas in coastal marshes, aiming to create a sustainable green ecological space, raising public awareness of environmental protection and climate change.

Au Co Park has an area of about 10,000 m², with main items including: Ecological landscape space using native plants that are resistant to salt and wind; walking paths, resting huts, environmentally friendly lighting systems; children's play area and public facilities installed on concrete strips near the seawall; and an outdoor learning experience area for the community and visitors.

As the project proposer with the support of HealthBridge Canada in Vietnam, a representative of the Institute for Construction and Urban Economics Research said that this is one of 25 proposals selected by IKI (an initiative by three ministries of the Federal Republic of Germany: Ministry of Economics and Climate Action; Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection; and Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) from nearly 500 global proposals. GIZ (Germany International Cooperation) is the unit that signed the agreement and implemented the project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized: The project is of special importance to Cua Dai ward, Hoi An city in particular and areas affected by climate change in general. The completion and putting into use of the project contributes to preserving Cua Dai beach from the risk of serious erosion, while opening up ecological, recreational and community experience spaces with profoundeducational and humane values; thereby strengthening the sustainability of Hoi An urban development and improving the quality of life for people.

"The cooperation of domestic and international organizations and individuals with local authorities in the fight against climate change for a green environment and a beautiful life for the community - of which the project is a typical example - is very noteworthy. Hopefully, the project will promote sustainable effectiveness, contributing to helping Cua Dai ward as well as Hoi An city adapt better to the increasingly severe climate change situation," the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared.

In recent years, Cua Dai beach in Hoi An city has been seriously eroded. Quang Nam province and Hoi An city have devoted many resources to implementing measures to limit erosion. At the end of March 2025, Quang Nam province continued to start the project "Anti-erosion and sustainable protection of Hoi An coast" with a total investment of 42 million euros (equivalent to 982.2 billion VND).
