CAREER MATURITY
In recent years, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has had a stable force with players at the peak of their careers. The framework is rarely disrupted; the players have brought into play their experience, courage, and understanding; thanks to that, they have continuously reaped success with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
The achievement of surpassing Korea and ranking 4th in the Asian Volleyball Championship last year helped Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team win tickets to the World Volleyball Championship for the first time this August in Thailand. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is also the champion of the Asian Women's Volleyball Cup (AVC Challenge Cup) for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024, thereby having the honor of participating in the Women's Volleyball World Cup (FIVB Challenge Cup).

At the club level, Vietnamese women's volleyball has also achieved success thanks to the contributions of the players. In 2024, LPBank Ninh Binh Club with the excellent performance of the trio of players Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, and Le Thanh Thuy won the runner-up position at the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, thereby winning a ticket to the Women's Club World Cup. By 2025, the national team of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Nguyen Tra My, and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh helped the club win the runner-up position and also win a ticket to the Women's Club World Cup.
K SINGING TO MAKE HISTORY
After winning the Asian Women's Club Championship with VTV Binh Dien Long An, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy joined the Vietnam national team. VTV Binh Dien Long An created conditions for Thanh Thuy to compete abroad in Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey and most recently Indonesia, which has trained her to be a professional player. At the age of 28, the Binh Duong -born player still wants to continue competing abroad to conquer and improve herself. VTV Binh Dien Long An has just signed a cooperation agreement with the top Philippine club Creamline Cool Smashers, opening up the possibility of Thanh Thuy joining this team.
This year, Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese volleyball team have two key tournaments: the World Championship in August and the 33rd SEA Games in December, both in Thailand. If the World Championship is an out-of-reach playground when the Vietnamese team faces extremely strong opponents, then at the 33rd SEA Games, the main rival competing for the gold medal with the Vietnamese girls is the Thai team. Having faced this opponent many times in the SEA Games final, Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team have never won. Therefore, at this year's SEA Games, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team were "assigned the target" of winning a historic gold medal for Vietnamese women's volleyball, which means they must defeat the host team Thailand, currently ranked 13th in the world. This is a difficult goal, but Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen and the players expressed their great determination.
It is likely that the volleyball event at SEA Games 33 will coincide with the Women's Club Volleyball World Cup, but Thanh Thuy's top priority is still to contribute to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have a long-term preparation this year with training sessions combined with competitions. Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the AVC Nations Cup (formerly the AVC Challenge Cup) in Hanoi from June 7 to 14. Next, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will participate in the VTV Cup from June 28 to July 5.
In August, in addition to the world championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also participated in 2 stages of the SEA V.League (Southeast Asian championship), and for the first time, was counted on the world rankings.
In October, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team returned to their clubs to participate in the second phase and the final round of the national volleyball championship. Next is the decisive preparation phase for the 33rd SEA Games in December.
