Construction of Rach Gia Bay overpass worth nearly 3,900 billion VND started

On September 30, the Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to build a bridge on the coastal road, also known as the Rach Gia Bay overpass.

The leader of the Department of Construction of An Giang province said that the Rach Gia Bay overpass has a scale of 6 lanes with a total length of 3.5km, a design speed of 60km/h. The total investment is nearly 3,900 billion VND, using the provincial budget, and will be implemented from 2025 to 2029.

The construction unit is a joint venture of Truong Phat Company Limited - Thang Long Corporation - Thang Long Construction Mechanical Corporation - VNCN E&C Construction and Engineering Investment Joint Stock Company - Thoi Binh Commercial Construction Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Ngo Cong Thuc - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee - said that the bridge project on the coastal road connecting An Bien - Rach Gia is identified as one of the projects of strategic significance, connecting the coastal road, connecting the inter-regions of An Giang and Ca Mau .

This will create new momentum for socio -economic development, respond to climate change, contribute significantly to ensuring security and defense, open up development space towards the West Sea for the province and be a gateway connecting the Mekong Delta region.

"The Department of Construction is requested to closely coordinate with departments, branches, localities, construction units, design consultants, supervision consultants and relevant units to support and promptly handle difficulties and problems, closely monitor and urge implementation progress, ensuring the project is completed on schedule and meets quality standards," said Mr. Thuc.
