Commencement of the project to invest in building a resettlement area and urban embellishment in the area of lane 226 Le Lai with a total investment of more than 440 billion VND

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of December 20, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Resettlement and Urban Renovation Project in Lane 226 Le Lai, May Chai Ward with a total investment of more than 440 billion VND. The project aims to improve and upgrade the technical and social infrastructure systems in the area, contributing to the socio -economic development of Ngo Quyen District in particular and the city in general.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; leaders of functional departments and branches; leaders of Ngo Quyen district.

The project to build a resettlement area and urban embellishment in the area of alley 226 Le Lai has an investment scale, including: site clearance and demolition of old works on a land area of 16.2 hectares; complete construction of technical infrastructure system for the resettlement area on an area of 2.67 hectares with items: leveling, roads, rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage, water supply, lighting, street trees, green grass...; arrange 244 lots to serve the resettlement needs for the site clearance of the Nguyen Trai Bridge Construction Investment Project and on-site resettlement; build 02 routes along the North-South and East-West axes of the 16.2 hectares land area with technical infrastructure system on the route (rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage, water supply, lighting, street trees).

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Ngo Quyen District People's Committee Cap Trong Tuan said that the project to build a resettlement area and urban embellishment in the area of alley 226 Le Lai will recover land on an area of 16.2 hectares, involving 14 organizations and 58 households and individuals to build a resettlement area to serve the site clearance of the Nguyen Trai Bridge construction project and on-site resettlement; create a reserve fund to serve the resettlement needs of other projects in Ngo Quyen District, and at the same time relocate old factories and warehouses that are being used ineffectively to exploit land funds for urban embellishment. In the past time, Ngo Quyen District has actively promoted and mobilized organizations, households and individuals to comply with receiving money and handing over the site. Up to now, 07/14 organizations and 43/58 households have complied with handing over the site with an area of 11 hectares, accounting for nearly 70% of the total recovered area...

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho emphasized that Hai Phong is currently focusing on and drastically implementing many solutions to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 16th Hai Phong City Party Congress; especially the expansion and urban embellishment with the determination to make Hai Phong a leading city in the cause of industrialization and modernization, creating a driving force for the development of the Northern region and the whole country. One very important task is to relocate factories, enterprises, and warehouses located in residential areas to concentrated industrial parks and clusters to exploit land funds for civil development, commerce, public services, social infrastructure, green parks, etc.

The Vice Chairman suggested that the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen district continue to focus on directing Site clearance work for remaining organizations and households; organize the implementation of construction works in accordance with legal regulations, ensure environmental sanitation, security, order, minimize impacts on the lives and activities of people in the Project area; at the same time, organize project management, inspect and supervise the works to ensure quality and progress; Design consultants, Supervision consultants, Construction contractors focus all the best resources, properly implement the commitments in the contract to complete the works on schedule, ensure quality, technique, aesthetics and labor safety.
