Launch of “I've Got the Power” campaign in Vietnam

The campaign focuses on highlighting the shared commitment to sustainable energy and the transformative impact of EU-supported initiatives in Vietnam that aim to provide renewable energy solutions to citizens and local communities. The campaign is implemented within the framework of the Global Gateway initiative – an EU strategy to close the gap between demand and real investment worldwide; promote smart, clean and secure connections in the digital, energy and transport sectors, and strengthen health, education and research systems.

Speaking about the campaign, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said: “The transition to renewable energy is not only about reducing carbon emissions, but also about creating a more sustainable future for people, the planet and the Vietnamese economy . Through this campaign, we want people to not only understand the importance of sustainable energy but also realize how this transition can positively impact our lives and our future.”

Suboi’s song “The Power” produced by Nodey is the theme song of the campaign and highlights the potential of clean energy in improving people’s lives and inspiring them to drive this positive change.

The Global Gateways initiative is expected to mobilize up to €300 billion in public and private investment between 2021 and 2027, creating essential linkages instead of dependencies and narrowing the global investment gap. In Vietnam, the initiative is being implemented through projects such as the EU-funded Tra Vinh nearshore wind farm, which aims to provide renewable electricity to 130,000 people and reduce 70,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
