Vietnam Sea and Islands Week is held from June 1-8 every year, an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its potential and determination to sustainably develop marine economic sectors while protecting environmental resources and national sovereignty at sea.
Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan affirmed that the theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2025 is "Green technology for sustainable ocean", which is Vietnam's consistent commitment in dealing with the sea, to get rich from the sea.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment also called on central departments, ministries, agencies, mass organizations; local authorities, organizations, businesses and all people to take practical actions to reduce pollution, protect marine biodiversity and encourage businesses to develop blue ocean economy , renewable energy, sustainable tourism, promote international cooperation and raise public awareness, especially among young people, about ocean protection.

Responding to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan - Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee called on all levels, sectors and people to continue promoting propaganda about the role and potential of seas and islands; promoting circular economy, controlling coastal plastic waste; applying science and technology in exploiting, conserving and sustainably developing marine resources.
Mr. Tan affirmed that despite facing many difficulties, Quang Binh province still prioritizes investment in coastal infrastructure, developing tourism and marine services, maintaining national security and defense, and improving people's lives.

Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2025 is an opportunity to promote and spread the spirit of love for the sea, demonstrate the responsibility to preserve the environment and marine resources, and sustainably develop marine economic sectors associated with protecting environmental resources and national sovereignty at sea.
Participating in the launching ceremony, Dang Le Thuy Trang, a member of the Youth Union of Quang Binh province, said: “Every year, our young generation has many campaigns to protect the marine environment and organize clean-up campaigns. Today, when there is an event of Vietnam Sea and Island Week, we are also the force cheering for the program.”

On this occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment presented fresh water tanks to fishermen, and the accompanying units awarded scholarships to students of fishermen who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies; vacation packages for naval veterans and funding to support the construction of houses for poor households and policy families in Quang Binh province.
