In addition to preferential policies on fees, subjects of the incentive program will be provided with free services and accompanying products such as websites, emails, etc. by businesses that are national domain name registrars.

According to Director of Vietnam Internet Center Nguyen Hong Thang, the development of the Vietnamese national domain name “.vn” is one of the criteria for evaluating the province's digital transformation index DTI and the province's e-commerce development index EBI.

By the end of May 2023, Hanoi had 191,674 .vn domain names, ranking second in the country (after Ho Chi Minh City). Hanoi is the locality with the highest number of .vn domain names/1000 people in the country with 23.01 domain names/1000 people (the whole country is 5.8 domain names/1000 people). This is a fairly high index compared to the general level of the provinces.

However, looking at the world , this index is still low. According to statistics of developed countries in the world, the average rate reaches 100-150 domain names/1000 people (UK, France, Australia, Sweden, Belgium...), and some countries even reach 200-350 domain names/1000 people (Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany...).
