Do not distort a humane policy

Chairing the 3rd meeting of the Central Steering Committee on housing policy and real estate market recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, pointed out that some localities have not really paid attention to reviewing the subjects of buying, renting, and leasing-purchasing social housing; there are still negative situations, causing public outrage.

With the requirement that all must be open and transparent, the Prime Minister requested relevant ministries and branches, especially localities, to strictly control this issue. The Ministry of Public Security must direct the forces to grasp the situation, immediately handle law violators, prevent negativity, and not distort a very humane policy of the Party and State.

After listening to the report and discussing the progress of social housing implementation nationwide, the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, the Prime Minister emphasized the important goals in social housing development. Accordingly, it is necessary to remove difficulties in procedures and processes so that people can enjoy and access social housing in the fastest, easiest, cheapest and most convenient way; without wasting time, effort, without "going around in circles", incurring additional costs and especially without being scammed...

In Thanh Hoa , implementing the social housing targets assigned by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 444/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025 as well as the Prime Minister's direction at the 2nd meeting of the Steering Committee, the province has directed strongly and urged social housing project investors to urgently complete and ensure progress. After the 2nd meeting of the Central Steering Committee on October 11, 2025, Thanh Hoa province has completed 437 units, bringing the total number of completed units to 2,201 units. The province is continuing to urge investors to focus on completing an additional 2,676 units; it is expected that by the end of 2025, the whole province will complete 4,877 units/5,249 assigned units, reaching a rate of 93%.

Thus, Thanh Hoa province has basically met the planned number of social housing. In order for social housing to reach the right subjects as directed by the Prime Minister: "In any province or city, as long as people in the target group are eligible to buy or rent social housing and have the need, they will have equal and most convenient access to social housing", it is necessary for functional agencies from the province to the grassroots to closely inspect, closely monitor, and strictly handle violations if any, especially eliminating "brokers" and intermediaries; cutting down on cumbersome and unnecessary procedures, so that people do not have to "go around in circles" and incur additional costs when accessing social housing as required by the Prime Minister. Only then will social housing truly become a place to settle down and make a living for beneficiaries, and the humanity of the policy will be promoted.
