Youth's mark in new rural construction

In recent times, the movement of youth joining hands to build new rural areas has been widely implemented by the Youth Union members of Thuong Ninh commune with many practical tasks, attracting a large number of young people and people to participate. Secretary of the Commune Youth Union Le Kim Tinh said: "The activities and tasks of the Youth Union in the commune in recent years have had positive changes, increasingly focused on quality and efficiency, creating many impressions in the community. In the past few years, the Youth Union in the commune has undertaken 20 projects and more than 30 youth tasks to build new rural areas, attracting over 500 Youth Union members to participate. The estimated value of the projects and tasks implemented is more than 150 million VND".

Environmental protection activities and climate change response have been widely implemented with many innovative, lively and effective forms such as: tree planting and care, waste collection, water resource protection, responding to the "Green Sunday" movement... Volunteer activities to ensure social security, for community life are organized in a variety of ways in line with social life needs. Accordingly, in the past time, the Commune Youth Union has organized 15 car wash activities to raise funds and give away many gifts; organized over 25 volunteer cleaning campaigns, poured concrete on village roads, alleys, built fences, activities attracting over 450 youth union members to participate. These activities have contributed to awakening the youth, demonstrating the role and responsibility of youth in building new rural areas, participating in environmental protection, towards community life, for social security, and have been highly appreciated by Party committees, authorities and people.

In Trung Ly commune, the youth movement joining hands to build new rural areas is one of the key contents in the annual youth union and youth movement program and is the main content associated with the peak activities of the youth in the youth month, the summer youth volunteer campaign, and the winter volunteer campaign. The youth union has actively participated in projects and tasks such as installing outdoor sports equipment at village and hamlet cultural houses, lighting up rural roads, youth tree roads, propagating and mobilizing people to renovate their houses, village roads, cleaning up the youth-managed roads, organizing cultural and sports programs... In addition, the youth union has also expanded and concreted 7km of inter-village roads, contributing to creating a new look for the homeland, creating an environment for the youth union to promote the spirit of responsibility and volunteering for the community.

To effectively promote youth projects and tasks, the Provincial Youth Union has actively directed all levels of the Youth Union to further promote the pioneering role, volunteerism and creativity of the youth in implementing youth projects and tasks to accompany localities in building new rural areas. From 2021 to 2025, the Youth Union has established nearly 1,500 youth volunteer teams to support localities in completing the criteria for building new rural areas. Every year, all levels of the Youth Union and associations in the whole province have simultaneously launched the peak day of "Youth Volunteers Join Hands to Build New Rural Areas" and "Green Sunday", launched by the Central Youth Union with many meaningful and practical activities.

Up to now, the whole province has built 257 model new rural roads, 50 hygienic toilets; repaired nearly 250km of rural roads; built 20km of new concrete roads, 454km of electric lines to light up rural roads; repaired and renovated 152 cultural houses, supported the repair of 107 dilapidated houses for households; repaired and installed 250 new children's playgrounds; 450 new rural propaganda billboard routes; deployed 58 youth tree-lined routes; launched propaganda campaigns to promote historical relics and scenic spots; promoted the role of volunteer young intellectual teams in supporting the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas in localities.

Every year, volunteer activities for community life are carried out regularly, with many meaningful and practical activities, especially during peak volunteer periods such as: "Winter and Spring Volunteer" program, Lunar New Year, Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. In the period from 2021 to 2025, the whole province has presented 56,600 gifts with a total cost of over 20 billion VND to policy families, disadvantaged youth, orphans, and lonely elderly people.

Looking at the actual effectiveness, it can be seen that the youth projects and tasks have been organized and implemented effectively by the Youth Union at all levels and the youth of the whole province, contributing significantly to the locality's completion of the criteria in the New Rural Construction. Therefore, the Provincial Youth Union is continuing to mobilize young union members to participate in activities such as supporting the construction of traffic and irrigation infrastructure, mobilizing social resources to build charity houses, youth power lines to light up the countryside, renovating household gardens, building model residential areas, repairing and renovating activity spots and playgrounds for the elderly and children. Organizing and mobilizing young union members to participate in the development of socio-economic infrastructure; developing production associated with agricultural restructuring, shifting the rural economic structure, widely applying scientific and technological advances to production, increasing income; enhancing the application of digital transformation in the New Rural Construction...
