In the second half, coach Dinh Hong Vinh made a tactical adjustment when he sent Le Van Thuan and Pham Minh Phuc onto the field. This change was a turning point for the match. Defender Wang Shiqin missed, allowing Minh Phuc to rush in and finish close to the goal, opening the score 1-0 for U.23 Vietnam.

In the next two matches, U.23 Vietnam will meet U.23 Uzbekistan on November 15 and face U.23 Korea on November 18.
