Avoid organizing widespread, wasteful review sessions.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DOET) has instructed schools not to organize widespread, inappropriate, ineffective, and wasteful review sessions that target the wrong students.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has recently sent a document to education and training departments; high schools; multi-level schools; and vocational education and continuing education centers providing guidance on organizing review sessions for the high school graduation exam and the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires all units and schools to proactively review, supplement, and adjust their educational plans (if necessary), ensuring the completion of the curriculum according to the academic year timeframe issued by the Hanoi People's Committee; and to continue implementing comprehensive solutions to ensure the quality of the 2018 General Education Program.

Regular and periodic tests and assessments should be designed to meet the learning objectives of the curriculum, without putting pressure on students to take extra classes. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training strictly prohibits cutting corners in the curriculum for any subject.

Schools continue to effectively implement the assignment of teachers to ensure the prescribed teaching load, prioritizing appropriate assignments for teachers in the final year of each level to have maximum time to support students in preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to review and classify students' academic levels in order to develop plans for organizing review and enrichment programs for final-year students preparing for entrance exams and graduation exams, in accordance with the educational plans of each institution, to achieve effective results.

Schools must absolutely not relax the organization of review and remedial classes for students whose academic results are below par; they must not conduct widespread, inappropriate, ineffective, or wasteful review sessions that target the wrong students.
