Professor, Academician Tran Dai Nghia (real name Pham Quang Le) was born on September 13, 1913 in a poor Confucian family in Hoa Hiep commune, Tam Binh district. He was an outstanding scientist, known as the father of Vietnam's defense industry.

The contributions of Professor, Academician Tran Dai Nghia left their mark in the two resistance wars. Under his direction, the products of the Vietnam Military Industry, especially the Bazooka gun, OF rockets, AT anti-tank bullets, SKZ recoilless rifles, researched and found technical solutions to overcome enemy tricks on radar, helping to clearly detect B-52 aircraft to control SAM-2 missiles to hit targets... defeated the US imperialists' war of destruction in the North by B-52, contributing significantly to national liberation and national unification.

After two resistance wars, his name became a legend to many generations of Vietnamese people as well as international friends. Professor and Academician Tran Dai Nghia's contributions to the Vietnamese revolution were immense, but his life was very simple and humble.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, the Memorial Site of Professor and Academician Tran Dai Nghia will be built in 2023 and inaugurated in 2025 on an area of ​​16,000 m2. The memorial site includes main items such as: memorial house, exhibition house, conference room, film screening room, traditional activities room, square...

The memorial area has nearly 1,000 documents and artifacts about the life of Professor and Academician Tran Dai Nghia. To add more significance, the Ministry of National Defense recently handed over a model of the military factory and 132 defense and economic products for display.
