On December 1, in Ho Chi Minh City, the National Agricultural Extension Center organized a seminar on “Public-Private Partnership: Agricultural Extension and Enterprises”, bringing together many enterprises, cooperatives and representatives from localities. The event aimed to evaluate the results of public-private partnerships (PPP) in recent times and orient the development of green, circular and low-emission agricultural models in the coming period.
According to the report presented at the seminar, by July 1, 2025, the whole country had established 5,187 Community Agricultural Extension Teams (KNCĐ) with nearly 50,000 members. This is the core network to support farmers at the grassroots level, implementing a series of activities such as technology transfer, consulting on cooperative building, supporting consumption linkage, developing raw material areas and implementing models of applying technical advances in many industries.

Many localities have recorded clear results. An Giang has advised hundreds of farmers on rice production according to SRP and IPM standards, linking consumption of nearly 13,000 hectares of rice. Son La has connected large-scale consumption of pineapples, sweet corn, and cucumbers; Ben Tre has formed an effective service and technical consulting model to help members increase their income by 3-5 million VND/month. The Central Highlands and Lam Dong provinces have supported businesses in implementing 4C and VietGAP coffee production, granting growing area codes, contributing to building a sustainable agricultural value chain.
At the seminar, businesses presented many typical PPP models. Binh Dien Company shared the success of the "Smart Rice Cultivation" program, which has helped farmers increase profits by 3.1 - 5.8 million VND/ha, making an important contribution to the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice. Bayer Vietnam introduced the "ForwardFarming" model, organized more than 100 training courses, increased rice productivity by 13.5% and ensured 100% of rice samples met EU export standards. Many other businesses such as Saigon Kim Hong, Loc Troi, VNF... also emphasized the role of linking with the agricultural extension system to expand raw material areas, develop mechanization and promote the circular economy .

This is the shortest way to promote green growth, increase income and ensure sustainable livelihoods for farmers.”
