Inspecting natural disaster prevention and control work in Loc Binh district

- On the morning of June 6, a working delegation led by the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) inspected PCTT&TKCN work and dam safety assurance work in Loc Binh district.

According to the report at the inspection, the work of natural disaster prevention and control has been proactively implemented by Loc Binh district. Specifically, the District People's Committee has developed and issued a plan on PCTT&TKCN in 2025, in which, it provides response measures for some common types of natural disasters in the district, develops disaster response plans according to risk levels...

At the same time, the District People's Committee directed agencies, units, People's Committees of communes and towns, and armed forces units in the district to develop detailed plans and solutions for disaster prevention and control according to the "4 on-site" motto; take the initiative in forecasting and warning; disseminate information on mass media to proactively respond to possible situations in order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, floods and storms.

Regarding reservoir safety, most of the reservoir projects in the district are small and medium sized projects. Since the beginning of the year, the units managing and exploiting reservoir and dam projects have inspected and reviewed the current status of the projects. Currently, the reservoir projects are operating stably and normally.

Speaking at the inspection, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative of the District People's Committee and the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control in preparing and developing plans and solutions for disaster prevention and control in the area.

He suggested: in the coming time, the People's Committee of Loc Binh district should direct the People's Committees of communes and towns to proactively review the plans for disaster prevention and control, and improve personnel after the merger. The District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control should review and inspect means, materials, and equipment for disaster prevention and control; ensure continuous and timely communication; continue to implement the "4 on-site" motto; promote propaganda and mobilize people to deploy safety measures.
